Dominique are tolerant of both hot and cold climates, making them an ideal flock addition. Dominiques are a sustainable heritage breed that lays around 4-6 light brown eggs per week, about 230-275 eggs per year. They have rose combs and a great foragers. They are sweet, gentle, calm and docile. They are easily handed. Barred Rock came from Dominique. Barred Rock are larger with a single comb and produce about 200 eggs per year, while Dominique are smaller and consume less food and produce more eggs. This breed is so rare, it’s not even an option under the Breed list!
