Description:
Olive Eggers - Pullets 15+ Weeks
Breeding Olive Eggers has been a goal of mine for some time now! Iâm so excited to offer these treasures to you! Our birds are a mix of Black Copper Marans, Golden Cuckoo Marans, Wyandotte, Ameraucana, and a couple other brown, blue, or green egg laying chickens. Hens in the Buckaboo line will lay various shades of olive eggs, but you may also get a wide variety of dark browns, blues, or greens. I breed for speckles and heavy bloom, as well! These birds can be grey, brown, black, white, or a combination of colors and patterns. They will have a variety of comb types, and some will have a muff and beard. The roosters that hatch from these eggs will have interesting and beautiful colors on their plumage, and will carry genes to pass on olive egger traits if you want to breed your own! Iâve collected birds from all over the country to start my own line! Current Buckaboo Olive Eggers have a combination of genetics from Alchemist Farm, Meyer Hatchery, Claborn Farms, and Wagon Train (our local feed store that orders from multiple breeders). Iâm also adding chicks from Sky Girl Farm in the Spring, and those chicks will include the frizzle gene!
PLEASE NOTE: If you want birds that have the highest chance of laying olive colored eggs please request F1, or first generation, olive eggers. You wonât get as wide a variety of colors from these girls, but they usually lay a basic olive, sometimes with speckles. I personally prefer F2+ generation birds, because I like to be surprised by all the funky shades of green, brown, and taupe that show up!
