Biography
I have a passion for fancy
hard to find poultry and Rabbits.
I am partial to bantam breeds but do love my huge Opringtons, too.
I have been breeding chickens for 8 years.
When my kids were younger I, like most wanted eggs, fun colored eggs , and I wanted friendly chickens.
I started my flock with the usual, orpingtons, brahmas and marans. Then I saw a picture of a frizzled polish. That started the obsession. I had to have them. I ordered my first eggs and a little incubator.
I hatched 3 polish from a dozen eggs. I was lucky to hatch a few frizzle cockerels and a khaki smooth hen who I still have today.
From those 3 beautiful birds, I have branched out to more colors of frizzle polish, including Buff Laced Bantams, Tolbunts and Candy Corns. I now have 5 breeding pens of polish, 6 pens of beautiful Silkies, Bobtail Pekins, Mottled Bantam Cochins and my newest breed Chocolate and Mauve Cuckoo English Orpingtons.
For the lineup of what I breed:
Silkies: Blue, Black, Splash, Paint, White, Chocolate, Mauve and Chocolate Paint.
Polish: Bantam White Crested Black, Khaki, Chocolate, Splash, Blue and Cuckoo.
Bantam Buff Laced, Tolbunt and Candy Corn.
Bantam Cochins: Mottled cock over a rainbow of hens including lavendar.
Bobtail Pekins:
English Orpingtons: Chocolate Cuckoo, Chocolate, Mauve and Mauve Cuckoo.
I have recently added the cutest little dwarf breeds of rabbits to the little farm.
I have pedigreed lionheads in fun colors and a show line of recognized colors.
Also so excited to add Teddywidders (Teddy lops) to the bunny herd. These are not arba yet, but we are working on breeding and getting them accepted to become an official breed.
